Frequently Asked Questions

Nope! All you need is a valid driver’s license. The Slingshot is classified as an Auto-Cycle, so no special license is needed in Missouri, Kansas, or any of the surrounding states except for Nebraska.
Missouri no longer requires a helmet for Slingshots, and Kansas does not either. We recommend always wearing a helmet (safety first)!
Basic full-face Helmets are provided for the driver and a passenger at no additional charge, if you wish to take them.
Yes, all Slingshots are 5-speed manuals from the factory. However, we offer classes to teach you how to drive a manual, so you will be ready for your next rental.
As for why no automatic transmissions are offered from the factory, that’s a good question for Polaris. However, we at KC Slingshot think that driving a manual is a lot more fun than driving an automatic!
You can drive as much as you want. The miles are not limited.
No, we want you to spend your time riding and having fun cruising on the road. We will take it back with whatever fuel you leave in the tank, and fill it up at no charge.
Our vehicles are available to drivers 21 and older. All renters are required to use our insurance. Insurance costs are $15 per day, and all drivers and riders are required to sign our liability waiver and rental agreement.
Also, a $1,000 credit card authorization is required to take the slingshot out. This is not a charge, but an authorization. So when the slingshot is brought back without damage it will never have been charged.
Yes we can deliver within a 50-mile radius of Kansas City for a fee. Quotes upon request.
Yes, we have a 2 hour minimum, as we realize people don’t always need the Slingshot for a full day. Pricing is $65 per hour during the week, and $75 per hour Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
